Another June is here, with Apple announcing yet another iOS version: iOS 17. With the official release in the fall of 2023, iPhone users will be able to browse through the amazing features and functionalities of iOS 17.
This year Apple is coming up with various new amazing features including your pets being recognized as one of your family members to removing Hey from " Hey Siri" There is much more that the viewers of Apple Event have witnessed. iOS 17 Features: Making it Extraordinary

1) Contact Card
Wants to be more creative about how people should receive your call? iOS 17 will let you do that. You can create your own customized contact poster and set it as your contact card that your friends and family will see as your visual identity. All you have to do is choose your favorite photo or memoji, add some text, add some colors, and create a poster out of it. Once you are done with that, set it as your contact card and, that will become your visual identity. It will not only be there as a contact card but, it can also be used in third-party VOIP apps, all thanks to the call Kit integration.
2) Live Voicemail
With iOS 17, iPhone users will be able to see the live transcript of the message once they receive the live voice call. It will showcase the entire message just as the call speaks translating for you to give context to the message. It will help you figure out whether you want to answer the call right away or not. If you have unknown caller silence is on, their calls will directly go to voicemail without buzzing your phone up making it better than ever. Along with this, the spam calls will get declined automatically rather than redirecting to the live voicemail. To sum it up, with the newer update, you can actually say goodbye to unknown and spam calls.
3) Messages - Making it Simple
Your iMessage app is going to be the way it used to behave till iOS 16. Various small updates of iMessage are going to create a major impact.

4) Sticker Creation

5) FaceTime
Missed a FaceTime call? Still, you can get the message just the same way. iOS 17 FaceTime will allow you to share the FaceTime video or audio message with the same effects. Access the Facetime effects like portrait mode, studio light, and more just the way it is Facetime functionalities. Along with this, you can view the FaceTime video and audio messages from your Apple Watch as well.
Find it boring to reply just with emojis, memojis, stickers, or simple texts? Now you can react to the messages with your hands. You can make it more fun by adding different 3D augmented effects like fireworks, hearts, confetti, and more. You can access this functionality with the iPhone 12 and later when using the front camera.
If you have an iPhone XSm iPhone XR and later, and Apple TV 4K (2nd generation and later) you will be able to access the FaceTime app on your Apple TV. You can use your iPhone as a camera or hand off the call from your iPhone to your Apple TV.
6) StandBy
Adoption of the Apple watch, the StandBy mode is here in iOS 17. Once you put your phone on charge and turn it side, you will get a new full-screen experience. It could be anything like a bedside clock, flashes of photos from your gallery, a speaker displaying the details of the currently playing song, to sharing the live activities. Along with this, you still be able to share them securely and within full quality over the internet once you start sharing the content and leave the AirDrop range. Both sender and receiver will be able to access the content through their iCloud. This update is going to roll out later this year.

This amazing new feature will allow you to swap the numbers with other iPhones or Apple watches (Watch Series 6 and later, SE (1st and 2nd generation), and Apple Watch Ultra) through AirDrop. Another update that is going to roll out later this year is an all-new iPhone Journal. 10) Keyboard
iOS 17 is going to introduce enhanced autocorrect functionality for the Keyboard. It will deliver better support as you type for various languages such as Arabic, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Korean, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, and Thai. English, French, and Spanish for iPhone 12 or later devices. 11) Safari & Password

AirPlay is going to witness another major update later this year offering support for the hotel rooms as well. iPhone users can scan the QR code on their room TV allowing them to play videos, photos, music, and more on their hotel room TV securely.
14) AirPods
iOS 17 is going to release a new listing mode Adaptive audio support for AirPods Pro 2nd generation. The Adaptive audio will dynamically blend the transparency and will activate the noise cancellation based on actual surroundings. It customizes your audio frequency based on your changing environment and integration during the day.
Along with this, AirPods 3rd generation, AirPods Pro 1st and 2nd generation, and AirPods max will allow users to mute and unmute themselves with a single press. But keep in mind you might face some issues with not compatible applications or with older firmware.
15) Maps
The Maps will now support the offline mode allowing you to download the maps and access them later even without an internet connection. Along with maps, you will be able to access various information like active hours, reviews and ratings, place cards, and more. It will give the direction based on your transit modes such as driving, walking, cycling, and riding. Along with this, keeping the rise of e-vehicle usage in focus, users will be able to find nearby charging stations based on their charging network.
16) Siri
Siri will now listen to you with or without adding "Hey" every single time. Once you set up Siri with the Hey Siri command you will be able to access Siri. Siri will listen to all your back-to-back requests without demanding to reactivate every single time.
17) Spotlight
Being smarter than ever Spotlight Intelligence will offer you app shortcuts for the searched app. You can determine your app shortcuts within the top hit. The rich visual results will change the visuals based on the search results turning them into similar app colors and icons.
18) Visual Lookup
Take a photo and a video to find the best possible search results starting from recognizing the object to finding the recipes. The call-out menu of photos or videos will allow you to look up the information about the lifted object of a photo or any frame.
19) HealthApp
Along with allowing you to keep track of physical health the iOS 17 update will allow you to keep track of your mental health as well. Move the slider based on your current feeling and allow the health features to provide powerful insights.
20) Privacy and Security
Last but not least iOS 17 is going to bring enhanced privacy and security sending alerts about sensitive content to asking permission for content you share. The update is going to bring communication safety to another level offering protections for sensitive videos and photos that you might receive through AirDrop, facetime, messages, Contact Posters, or any other third-party applications. The introduction of lockdown mode will provide security against all the potential cyber-attacks for all most every Apple device including the Apple watch.
iOS 17 Version Release Date Announcement
The first public beta version will be released in July 2023. Apart from that, Apple is planning to launch various series of developer and public beta between June to September. While guessing from the previous iOS version releases the final public version should be released around mid-September of 2023. So, if you own an iPhone SE 2nd generation or later version, you can expect to get a software update around September 2023.
